If you envision yourself as a Big Fish according to Lorin Beller’s definition, able to run your business AND live your life fully, you should read her recently published book From Entrepreneur to Big Fish: 7 Principles to Wild Success. You will learn to uncover your vision; you will focus on and give energy to what you have instead of what you don’t; you will learn to become self-confident and to trust your instincts, take control, and look for win-win situations; and at the end of each chapter you will answer questions to help you create and follow your life and business vision, learn how to let go of the obstacles you have within you, and take action.

Before founding Big Fish Nation, Lorin Beller in 1994 co-founded, successfully built from scratch and sold Global 2000, an internet company. After the sale, she continued working for the acquiring public company BiznessOnline, where she oversaw its merger with 13 other companies. Lorin then decided to leave the corporate world and took a break to work on her vision. Lorin realized she would be happier running a small firm and developing a much-needed structure to entrepreneurs as opposed to investing in big ideas and running a company with many employees. She started thinking of a Big Fish way to combine her degrees in Biology and Psychology, a masters in Health Administration and her coaching certification with her successful entrepreneurial and corporate careers, and she came up with a program to lead other entrepreneurs to success. Big Fish Nation has been assisting entrepreneurs in becoming Big Fish like Lorin Beller since January 2004.

Lorin mentioned the tendency we all have to be driven by the day-to-day events in our lives, by the phone and daily distractions, when we should be driven by our bigger vision. Big Fish Nation, a yearlong program for businesses and corporate teams, with phone coaching sessions in groups of up to 12 people, assists entrepreneurs to create and stay focused on their vision. Participants write their 10-year vision plan during the first six months of the program, and throughout the following six months they receive the support needed to take action and move towards their goals and success. In addition, each participant receives invaluable national media exposure.

In order to grow her business, Lorin counts on many strategic partners and the program keeps evolving as she learns from her clients as well. She understands the importance of reaching out to people she admires and Lorin suggests that you too should contact people you look up to in your industry and ask for assistance. In her book From Entrepreneur to Big Fish: 7 Principles to Wild Success, she shares that after reading “The Road Less Traveled” when she was 16, Lorin wrote a thank you letter to the author M. Scott Peck, and he sent her an encouraging response. – That is powerful!

In the future, Lorin Beller plans to offer Big Fish graduates annual retreats to exotic places, so that they can update their goals, share successes, and be motivated to achieve more. She also encourages Big Fish entrepreneurs to give back to the community either in the United States or abroad, helping more people become Big Fish themselves.

Lorin Beller suggests the following advice to business owners: “Entrepreneurs should have a vision and not let anybody stop them from pursuing that vision.” She acknowledges that even though other people may point out the pitfalls and the hardships you may face, you are ultimately the one who can believe in your strengths and go for it, knowing you will succeed. According to Lorin, the flexibility and the opportunity to do anything you set your mind to, makes it all worth it!

To get started on your road to becoming a Big Fish and being “wildly successful”, you should be aware of who you are, write your vision and TAKE ACTION. For more information about Lorin D. Beller and Big Fish Nation, please visit www.bigfishnation.com.
